Dismal Freedom Press is committed to accuracy. When we make mistakes, we correct them — promptly, transparently, and without minimizing what went wrong.
How We Handle Corrections
When a factual error is identified and confirmed, we:
Update the article with the corrected information
Add a clearly labeled correction notice at the bottom of the article explaining what was wrong and what the correct information is
Log the correction in our public Corrections record, linked from this page
Note the correction date and the nature of the change
We do not silently edit published articles to remove errors. Every significant factual correction is disclosed.
What Constitutes a Correction
A correction is issued when we published information that was factually wrong — a name spelled incorrectly, a number reported inaccurately, a timeline misstated, or a person's title or role described incorrectly.
Clarifications — adding context to a story that was not incorrect but may have been incomplete or ambiguous — are also noted, though they are labeled as clarifications rather than corrections.
How to Request a Correction
If you believe we have made a factual error, please contact us:
Email: newsroom@dismalfreedompress.org Subject line: Correction Request Please include: the article title or URL, the specific claim you believe is inaccurate, and the correct information along with any documentation that supports it.
We review all correction requests and respond within one business day. If the error is confirmed, we issue the correction within 24 hours.
Corrections Log
All published corrections are logged publicly in our Corrections archive on this site. The log includes the article affected, the date of correction, and a description of what was changed.
